Harvest report 2012 October 10, 2012
At perfect Autumn weather we finished last weekend the main harvest.Sauvignon Blanc Edelschuh, Sauvignon Blanc Steinriegel and Gelber Muskateller Steinriegel have been the big final for this fantastic vintage. Just the Riesling stays for another couple of days on the vines and will be finalised in the coming two weeks.
Already the first harvest days have shown that the vintage will be very good and until the last picking days we really had perfect weather. Warm days and Cool nights gave us grapes with complex and very intense flavours. Especially in these warmer vintages we have a big advantage on our highly located vineyards, because we can pick the grapes later with a more complex aromtic, but they still keep their finessful structure.
The ripe flavours in combination with our typical slatey notes from the soil will bring us great wines. A big vintage, with lots of power, but still typical styrian finess.
