Wine description:

Savory aromas and flavours, dense, minerally, spicy, great interplay of cool flavours from the slate and warm flavours of the ripeness, with a huge life ahead—pure slate.


Location:

Steinriegl: Very steep (up to 78% inclination) top single vineyard located on high altitude and facing south-southwest. Highly flavour-intense wines with pronounced minerality. This vineyard was referred as one of the best single vineyards of Styria for centuries

Red slate (paleozoic slate)

Winemaking:

Very late selective hand picked grapes, short maceration time, gently very slowly pressed. Slow natural fermentation in Stainless Steel tanks and in used big wooden casks at temperatures around 20°C. Batonage for several months
