Cellar

The key issue at the Wohlmuth Estate is to produce wines with character. This is made possible by the interplay of perfect fruit and state-of-the-art technology, which has always been a combination of traditional know-how passed on for generations within the family and the use of ultramodern equipment.

The new winemaking facilities, which were inaugurated with the 2000 crush, fully meet with these requirements. Here, grapes sourced from some 75 hectares are processed. Extensive vineyard expansions called for another enlargement of the buildings in winter 2004/2005. The new cellar facilities include a new bottling hall with consecutively arranged air-conditioned storage rooms for filled bottles; a new fermentation cellar for the Classic wines; and air-conditioned barrique cellars suitably adapted in the old cellar building for the storage of red wines and fermentation of white wines.

Due to Gerhard Wohlmuths constant striving for premium quality, small details are constantly updated in the cellar.
