Raspberry pulp, complex, firm oak texture, minerally, spicy, vigorous—huge potential. Location: Altenberg: South-, southwest facing single vineyard, which was referred for centuries as one of the best single vineyards of Styria. The grapes produce wines of rich texture with a slatey whiff from the soil. Soil: Red and grey slate (paleozoic slate) Awards: Vintage 2013: Winemaking: Selective hand picked grapes, open fermentation, after fermentation another 10 days maceration, gently pressed, malolactic fermentation in barriques. For the single vineyard Pinot Noir we pick the grapes from the oldest vines and the wine aged 30 months in barriques.
